About Pixelorium's Name

What is a pixelorium?

Throughout the dark and middle ages, a few craftsmen — they were not called "artists" then! — created magnificent books by hand.

Working in a scriptorium — a room set aside for writing — these craftsmen extended the alphabet, introduced many of the symbols we use today, and established standards of beauty and proportion in page design.

Though much of our work today is computer-based, we are proud to honor those early pioneers of page layout by calling our studio a pixel scriptorium — or, "pixelorium."
